What we collect
When you use the Get Matched form: your name, email, phone number, postcode, the purpose of your enquiry, approximate property value, deposit, borrowing amount, income, employment type, your own description of your credit history, your timescale, any notes you add, and your contact preference. We also record the time of submission, the page you came from, and your IP address for security.
When you browse: anonymous visit counts through a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use advertising cookies or track you across sites. See our cookie page.
Why we collect it and the legal basis
- To match you with a broker and pass your enquiry to them. Basis: your consent, given when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, though we can't recall an enquiry already sent.
- To follow up if the broker can't help, and to check the service is working. Basis: our legitimate interest in running the service properly.
- To send you occasional guides and updates. Only if you tick the optional marketing box. Basis: consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent spam and abuse. Basis: legitimate interest.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is shared with one mortgage broker, currently [Receiving broker firm name] ([FRN 000000]), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Once they receive it they are a separate data controller and their own privacy notice applies. We receive a fee from the broker for the introduction.
We also use service providers to run the site: web hosting, email delivery, and (if configured) a customer-relationship system used to store and forward enquiries. They process data on our instructions only. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with other brokers, lenders or marketing lists.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details: 12 months from submission, then deleted. Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe. Server logs: 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, ask us to restrict it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@belfastmortgages.co.uk from the address you used on the form. We respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Children
The service is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this notice materially we'll update the date at the top and, where we have your email, tell you.
